A truly collaborative effort
Cotswold Transport Planning helped to secure planning permission through providing highway and transportation planning inputs for a new commercial development at Gloucestershire Airport – CGX Connect Business Park.
The CGX Connect Business Park will provide 30,000 sqm of commercial and industrial floor space and when fully operational it is forecast to deliver around 1520 new jobs. The site also offers a unique opportunity for future businesses to connect by air to UK and European destinations.
The scheme posed many challenges, the success of which demonstrated a truly collaborative effort from the design team. One of the key challenges Cotswold Transport Planning faced was the constrained nature of the highway network. Through undertaking capacity testing of the local highway network and resultant mitigation measures, Cotswold Transport Planning were able to demonstrate that the development would not have a significant impact on the local highway network.
Mitigation because of the scheme will see enhanced connectivity to Gloucester, Churchdown and Cheltenham, with future improvements to the sustainable infrastructure along the B4063, which includes Gloucestershire County Councils cycle scheme between Gloucester and Cheltenham.
