No, CE Glos is not VAT registered.

Yes! You are very welcome to sign up for corporate or corporate plus membership and you can use the additional event tickets to bring guests.

No. Our membership year runs from 1 May until the following 30 April. We usually offer half price membership from November-April inclusive. No matter what date you join, your membership will expire on the next 30 April.

It is the business who is a member of CE Glos and therefore your new employer will need to join. Please remember that we offer half price membership from November-April inclusive.

Our annual financial report is available to members. Generally speaking, membership fees are spent on the following: event costs such as room hire and catering (where not paid for by an event sponsor), costs associated with hiring in speakers, social media and web support, administrative and auditing support, sundry items such as badges and lanyards and promotional banners. Please note that the Committee members are volunteers and are not paid to carry out their role. The committee has, however, sanctioned Committee Members to claim travel expenses when representing CE Glos at other external events, for example, representing the CE Glos Club and regional and national level within the wider Constructing Excellence body.

Event FAQ’s

Our events are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month. Our events are a mixture of evening (5.30pm for 6pm start finishing around 7pm) and breakfast (8am for an 8.30am start ending by 9.30am). Occasionally, however, our events take place on other days of the week. Please see here for full event listing.

Booking for events usually opens between 4 and 6 weeks before the event. Please ensure that you have logged in to your account before trying to book tickets. If you are still having problems, please click here to send us an email.

We are unable to provide invoices in advance for ticket purchase, but we do provide receipts. Please remember that we are not VAT registered.

CE Glos hosts a range of events throughout the year including site visits to exemplar projects and indoor events with guest speakers. We are always interested to hear from people who would like to help us put on these events. Please click here to send us an email about your event proposal.

Unfortunately we are unable to amend bookings. Your colleague will be welcome to attend the event and we will have spare badges to the event to write their own name badge out.

We will list events hosted by members and corporate members in the resource area of our website. For corporate plus members, we will list your event in the resource area of our website and feature it in our social media. For an additional £50 per mail shot, corporate plus members are able to have us send details of their event by email to those people on our mailing list who have elected to receive information from us about third party events. We are unable to list other organisation’s events within our events section.

Committee FAQ’s

Committee elections are held at our Annual General Meeting which takes place in May each year. Members of the club are eligible to stand for election to the Committee. If, during the course of the year, the Committee considers that it requires additional members in order to carry out its functions and duties, then the Committee may choose to co-opt up to an additional 4 members. The committee meets on the first Friday of every month at 8am.
